Radiofrequency Microneedling

WHAT IT IS

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling harnesses the synergy of two highly effective techniques—radiofrequency energy and microneedling—to address various skin concerns. This state-of-the-art procedure stimulates collagen production, tightens the skin, and improves overall texture and tone.

The precision-controlled radiofrequency energy is delivered through ultrafine needles, creating micro-injuries that trigger the body’s natural healing response. This prompts the production of fresh collagen and elastin fibers, resulting in firmer, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin.

If you’re facing the effects of aging skin, you don’t necessarily have to undergo surgical methods. Wenzel Facial Plastic Surgery offers non-surgical InMode Morpheus8 and Rohrer PiXel8-RF to help you meet your skin goals. Schedule an appointment today to learn more.

INMODE MORPHEUS8

Morpheus8 is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment that combines microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) energy to improve the skin’s texture and appearance while reducing fat tissue. During a Morpheus8 treatment, a handheld device with tiny needles creates microchannels in the skin while simultaneously delivering RF energy deep into the skin. This combination stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. These two essential proteins help keep the skin firm and smooth, contouring and sculpting the face.

Morpheus8 is generally well-tolerated as a topical anesthetic is used before treatment. Patients may experience some redness, swelling, and minor discomfort following the treatment. However, there is usually little to no downtime associated with the procedure, and patients can typically resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.

ROHRER PIXEL8-RF

Rohrer PiXel8-RF also combines microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) energy to improve the skin’s texture and appearance and to address various skin imperfections, including wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin texture. This advanced technology can be applied to various face and body areas, including the forehead, cheeks, chin, neck, and décolletage. The application of radiofrequency is not as aggressive as with Morpheus8, and the Pixel8-RF is slightly less expensive, with typically less than 24 hours of noticeable skin redness. For those wanting a more gentle introduction to radiofrequency microneedling, still with very good results and quicker recovery time, this may be the procedure for you.

Injectable Fillers

WHAT IT IS

As we age, the production of hyaluronic acid diminishes, resulting in sagging skin and the formation of lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers replenish this essential component, restoring a youthful appearance and rejuvenating your overall look.

Fillers can treat various facial areas, including the lips, cheeks, chin, and around the eyes and mouth. They can improve the appearance of hollow or sunken areas, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, and create more defined facial contours, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed look.

Options we offer:

  • Revance® RHA® Dermal Fillers
  • JUVÉDERM® Collection of Fillers
  • RESTYLANE® Line of Fillers
  • Sculptra® Filler
  • Radiesse® Family of Dermal Fillers

HOW IT WORKS

Dermal fillers, also known as injectable fillers, are a non-surgical cosmetic treatment designed to enhance facial features, smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, and add volume to sunken areas. They typically consist of a gel-like substance, such as hyaluronic acid or collagen, injected into the skin using a fine needle.

The results of fillers are usually visible immediately after the treatment, and the procedure is generally well-tolerated. However, patients may experience mild side effects such as redness, swelling, or discomfort at the injection site. The duration of the results can vary depending on the specific type of filler used and the treated area, lasting from several months to over a year. It’s important to discuss any potential allergies or medical conditions beforehand.

Dr. Wenzel meticulously administers dermal fillers at our clinic in Western North Carolina with precision and artistry, ensuring natural-looking results. Schedule a consultation to determine if fillers are right for you.

Injectable Neuromodulators

WHAT IT IS

Injectable neuromodulators, also known as neurotoxins, such as Botox®, Jeuveau®, and Daxxify®, are non-surgical treatments that temporarily relax the muscles that cause wrinkles and lines. These FDA-approved neurotoxins are derived from a purified form of botulinum toxin, which has been proven safe and effective for cosmetic use.

When injected into specific areas of the face, they inhibit the release of neurotransmitters responsible for muscle contractions, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance. Dr. Wenzel meticulously administers injectable neurotoxins with precision and artistry, ensuring natural-looking results that enhance your unique features while maintaining facial harmony. Experience the transformative power of injectable neurotoxins at our modern and innovative clinic, where your satisfaction and well-being are our top priorities.

BOTOX®

Botox® is a type of injectable neuromodulator used for cosmetic and medical purposes. The active ingredient in Botox is botulinum toxin type A, which works by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines on the face. Botox is commonly used to treat wrinkles and fine lines in areas such as the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes (crow’s feet). The treatment involves injecting small amounts of the botulinum toxin into specific muscles using a fine needle, causing them to relax and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

In addition to its cosmetic uses, Botox is also used to treat medical conditions such as chronic migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and muscle spasms. In these cases, Botox injections are used to block nerve signals that trigger the symptoms temporarily. The effects of Botox injections typically last for several months, after which the treatment can be repeated if desired. The treatment is generally well-tolerated, with mild side effects such as redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site being common.

JEUVEAU®

Jeuveau® is a brand name for a prescription medicine that is injected into the muscles of the face to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines (glabellar lines) between the eyebrows in adults. Jeuveau contains botulinum toxin Type A, which helps relax the muscles and temporarily smooth the skin’s appearance. This treatment is often used in cosmetic procedures and is approved by the FDA.

The duration of the effects of Jeaveau can vary depending on several factors, such as the individual’s metabolism, the dosage used, and the location of the injection. However, the effects of Jeaveau can last anywhere from three to six months. After this time, the muscle activity gradually returns, and the wrinkles or lines may become visible again.

DAXXIFY®

Daxxify is a peptide-enhanced injectable that treats glabellar lines, or “frown lines.” Daxxify contains a peptide exchange technology to temporarily deliver the botulinum toxin to the nerve cells to improve moderate to severe lines. While results will differ depending on the person, Daxxify lasts anywhere from six to nine months, the first neuromodulator to promise such longevity and promises consumers fewer treatments are needed a year to maintain the best results.

Daxxify is approved to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles, and it can also be used to decrease sweating in your palms and armpits. It can also be used to help reduce migraines. Adverse effects are similar to other neuromodulators, such as bruising, headache, and eyelid ptosis (drooping eyelids).

Facials

WHAT IT IS

Facials are a powerful treatment for deep cleansing and nourishing the skin while providing a relaxing experience. At Wenzel Facial Plastic Surgery, we offer a range of custom facials to help you achieve radiant and rejuvenated skin.

HOW IT WORKS

Our facials typically involve a combination of cleansing, exfoliation, extractions (if necessary), facial massage, and the application of targeted serums, masks, and moisturizers. Chemical Peels

WHAT IT IS

Chemical peels are an aesthetic treatment that exfoliates the outer layer of skin using a chemical solution. This process reveals smoother, brighter, and younger-looking skin underneath. The strength and composition of the chemical solution used can vary depending on the individual’s skin type and desired results.

There are three main types of facial peels: superficial, medium-depth, and deep. Superficial peels are mild and used to remove dead skin cells, improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Medium-depth peels target deeper wrinkles, scars, and hyperpigmentation. In contrast, deep peels are used for more severe skin concerns, such as deep wrinkles and sun damage.

HOW IT WORKS

Chemical peels are typically performed on the face and neck. The procedure usually lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, and there may be some mild discomfort or stinging during the application of the chemical solution. After the peel, the skin may be red and sensitive, and it’s important to protect it from the sun and avoid certain skincare products, as directed by the healthcare provider.

All our peels include a post-procedure kit to care for your skin after the treatment. Pricing starts at $90, but actual pricing depends on the depth of peel needed based on your individual skin care needs. Schedule a consultation to learn more about our chemical peel options.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

WHAT IT IS

Laser skin resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure that uses a laser to remove the outer layer of skin to improve its appearance and texture. It can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other skin imperfections. There are two types of laser skin resurfacing: ablative and non-ablative. Ablative laser resurfacing removes the outer layers of skin. In contrast, non-ablative resurfacing targets the deeper layers of skin without damaging the surface.

HOW IT WORKS

This treatment works through a laser that emits a high-energy beam of light that vaporizes the outer layer of skin, stimulating the production of collagen, a protein that gives skin its elasticity. The laser can also penetrate deeper into the skin to target specific areas and promote the growth of new, healthier skin cells. Laser skin resurfacing is a safe and effective procedure. Still, it does have some potential side effects, such as temporary redness, swelling, and skin discoloration. Schedule an appointment to determine if laser skin resurfacing is right for you.

Laser Treatment of Surface Blood Vessels

WHAT IT IS

One common concern many patients face is the presence of surface blood vessels, which can be visible on the face and other areas of the body. These blood vessels, often called “spider veins” or broken capillaries, can be caused by various factors such as aging, sun exposure, genetics, or certain medical conditions.

At Wenzel Facial Plastic Surgery, we offer state-of-the-art laser treatments to target and diminish surface blood vessels effectively. Our goal is to help you achieve a more even, clear, and rejuvenated complexion by effectively treating surface blood vessels. With our clinic’s cutting-edge laser technology and experienced professionals, you can trust that we will provide exceptional care and results.

HOW IT WORKS

During the laser treatment, advanced laser technology emits a focused beam of laser energy to selectively absorb the pigment in the blood vessels, causing them to heat up and collapse. As a result, the blood vessels gradually fade and are eventually reabsorbed by the body, significantly reducing their appearance.

One of the key advantages of laser treatment for surface blood vessels is its precision. The laser can precisely target the affected area without causing harm to the surrounding skin. The procedure is generally well-tolerated, and discomfort is usually minimal and temporary. Multiple treatment sessions may be recommended for optimal results depending on the size and severity of the blood vessels.

Mole Removal

WHAT IT IS

Mole removal is a common procedure to eliminate aesthetically displeasing moles, causing irritation or raising concerns about potential health risks. At Wenzel Facial Plastic Surgery in North Carolina, we understand the impact that unwanted moles can have on your self-confidence. That’s why we offer safe and effective “scarless” mole removal procedures to help you achieve smooth and flawless skin.

Our modern and innovative approach to mole removal focuses on achieving natural-looking results that blend seamlessly with your surrounding skin, helping you regain confidence in your appearance.

HOW IT WORKS

Dr. Wenzel uses high-frequency radio wave surgery to remove moles using settings allowed by technological advances that reduce thermal damage to the skin. Radiowave surgery mechanics produce less heat and thermal damage when compared to laser or common lower-frequency electrosurgery units. Removing the lesion without making an incision through the dermis makes the cosmetic result superior, and a full dermis scar is avoided as this deeper layer of the skin is not damaged or incised.

Let us guide you through the mole removal process and the remarkable results it can bring. Call to schedule a consultation.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

The number of RF treatments needed to achieve optimal results can vary depending on individual factors such as skin condition and desired outcomes. Typically, a series of treatments several weeks apart is recommended to achieve noticeable improvements. During your consultation, Dr. Wenzel will assess your skin and recommend a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

Injectable Dermal Fillers: The duration of results varies depending on the type of filler used, the treatment area, and individual factors. Generally, dermal fillers provide results lasting anywhere from several months to over a year. Regular maintenance treatments can help prolong the effects.

Injectable Neuromodulators: The duration of results from neurotoxin treatments can vary depending on the specific product used, individual metabolism, and the treatment area. The effects of neurotoxins like Botox® and Jeuveau® typically last between three to four months, with Daxxify® lasting from six to nine months.

Like any cosmetic procedure, chemical peels may have potential side effects, including redness, peeling, temporary sensitivity, and mild discomfort. However, these effects are temporary and subside within a few days to reveal improved skin texture and a refreshed appearance. Our team will provide thorough aftercare instructions to minimize potential risks and ensure optimal healing.

The skin can take several weeks to fully heal following ablative laser treatment. Once the skin has healed, the effects of the treatment can remain visible for years. Sun avoidance and daily sun protections are essential to maintaining the cosmetic results of the laser resurfacing procedure. Laser surface blood vessel removal helps eliminate the spider veins you currently have, but it will not prevent new ones from forming. If you develop new ones in the future, we can repeat the procedure as necessary.

A local anesthetic is typically administered during the mole removal procedure to ensure your comfort. This numbs the area being treated, minimizing any potential pain or discomfort.
In most cases, the procedure can be completed relatively quickly, typically taking less than 5–10 minutes per mole.
Mole removal is generally a safe procedure when performed by experienced professionals. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and complications, including infection, bleeding, scarring, and changes in pigmentation. Dr. Wenzel will assess your situation, discuss the potential risks, and provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery process. Dr. Wenzel typically recommends sending the mole for pathologic evaluation unless declined by the patient, as any mole has the potential to be precancerous. This decision will be made with the patient at the time of the procedure.
